Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Policies

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards under ten are of face value whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they just act as the two hands to be given out).

2 hands of 2 cards will then be given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for any hand shall be the grand total of the two cards, but the first digit is discarded. For eg, a hand of 7 … five has a value of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).

A third card could be dealt depending on the following standards:

- If the player or banker has a score of eight or nine, the two bettors stand.

- If the player has 5 or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart is used in order to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores will be the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay out nineteen to 20 (even odds minus a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so ensure that you have cash still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie as a rule pay 8 to one and sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a bad wager as ties occur lower than 1 every ten hands. Avoid placing bets on a tie. Still, odds are decidedly better – 9 to 1 vs. 8 to one)

When done correctly, baccarat presents relatively good odds, away from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Tactics

As with many games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. One of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is not an actual indicator of future happenings. Tracking of previous outcomes on a chart is a complete waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most commonly used and probably most successful tactic is the one-three-2-six scheme. This method is employed to build up earnings and lowering risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove four so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum of six on the 4th bet.

If you lose on the initial wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Thus that you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
