Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards which are valued less than 10 are give a value of their printed number meanwhile ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they only represent the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards will then be played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for each hand shall be the total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of 7 and five will have a total score of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).
A third card might be dealt depending on the foll. rules:
- If the gambler or banker has a score of eight or nine, each bettors stand.
- If the player has five or lower, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used in order to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the 2 scores wins. Successful stakes on the banker pay 19 to 20 (even money less a 5 percent commission. Commission is monitored and moved out when you leave the table so ensure you have dollars remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie generally pay out eight to 1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a bad bet as ties occur less than one every ten hands. Stay away from placing bets on a tie. Still, odds are positively better – nine to 1 versus eight to one)
Played smartly, baccarat offers generally decent odds, away from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with many games, Baccarat has some established false impressions. One of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future outcomes. Keeping track of past conclusions on a chart is a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most popular and feasibly most successful method is the one-3-2-six method. This scheme is employed to build up payout and lowering risk.
Begin by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away four so you have 2 on the third bet. If you win the third gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the 4th bet.
If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. In other words you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
