Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards of a value less than ten are give a value of face value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they simply appear as the 2 hands to be played).
Two hands of two cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for every hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of seven … five will have a total score of 2 (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).
A third card could be given depending on the foll. practices:
- If the gambler or banker has a total of eight or 9, the two gamblers stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used to see if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the 2 scores wins. Winning bets on the banker pay out nineteen to 20 (even odds minus a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you have $$$$$ left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie as a rule pay out 8 to 1 but on occasion nine to one. (This is a bad bet as ties occur less than one every 10 hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. Regardless odds are radically better – nine to one vs. eight to one)
When done accurately, baccarat provides relatively good odds, away from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Tactics
As with every games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. One of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an indicator of future events. Tracking of last results on a chart is simply a complete waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most popular and possibly most successful strategy is the 1-3-two-6 scheme. This schema is deployed to amplify successes and reducing risk.
Begin by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract four so you have two on the third bet. If you win the third gamble, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a total of 6 on the 4th bet.
If you don’t win on the first bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second creates a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. In other words you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
