Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued less than 10 are said to be at their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they just appear as the 2 hands to be dealt).

2 hands of two cards will now be dealt to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for every hand is the grand total of the two cards, but the 1st digit is removed. For example, a hand of seven … 5 gives a total of 2 (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card might be dealt depending on the following protocols:

- If the player or banker has a tally of 8 or 9, both bettors stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart shall be used in order to decide if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores will be the winner. Winning bets on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure to have dollars left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winning bets for tie usually pays eight to one but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is an awful gamble as ties occur less than one every ten hands. Run away from putting money on a tie. Regardless odds are exceedingly better – nine to 1 vs. 8 to one)

When done accurately, baccarat provides fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with most games, Baccarat has some established false impressions. One of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is not a predictor of future events. Monitoring of old results on a chart is undoubtedly a total waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most accepted and probably most successful method is the 1-3-2-6 concept. This schema is used to amplify winnings and lowering risk.

start by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away four so you have two on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum of six on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the initial wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Thus you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
