Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards than are of a value less than 10 are said to be worth face value while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they simply act as the two hands to be dealt).

2 hands of two cards will then be dealt to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for any hand will be the sum of the two cards, but the very first digit is dropped. For example, a hand of seven … 5 has a total of two (7plus5=12; drop the ‘1′).

A third card might be played depending on the foll. codes:

- If the player or banker has a value of 8 or 9, both gamblers stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or less, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the player hits, a chart might be used in order to decide if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores will be the winner. Victorious stakes on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure that you have money left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie typically pay eight to 1 and sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a crazy bet as ties occur less than 1 every ten hands. Definitely don’t try betting on a tie. However odds are vastly better – 9 to one versus eight to one)

When played properly, baccarat provides pretty decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with most games, Baccarat has some established false impressions. One of which is similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future actions. Keeping track of prior outcomes on a chart is simply a total waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most accepted and probably most successful method is the one-three-two-6 scheme. This tactic is employed to pump up profits and limiting risk.

start by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away four so you have two on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum of six on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the initial wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the second creates a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Winning all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words that you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
