Baccarat Rules and Strategy

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Codes

Baccarat chemin de fer is enjoyed with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under 10 are valued at their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and A is 1. Bets are made on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these aren’t really people; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘house’ and ‘player’. The score for every hand is the total of the cards, however the first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of five and 6 has a value of one (five plus six equals 11; drop the initial ‘one’).

A 3rd card may be given using the following rules:

- If the player or house achieves a value of eight or 9, both players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, she takes a card. Players otherwise hold.

- If the gambler stays, the house hits on a total less than 5. If the gambler takes a card, a chart is used to decide if the banker holds or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The better of the two scores wins. Winning wagers on the house payout 19:20 (even money minus a 5 percent rake. Commission are recorded and paid off when you quit the table so make sure you have money around just before you leave). Winning wagers on the gambler pays out at 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pays out at 8 to 1 but occasionally 9:1. (This is a poor bet as ties occur lower than 1 in every 10 rounds. Be cautious of wagering on a tie. However odds are substantially better for 9 to 1 vs. 8 to 1)

Wagered on properly baccarat banque offers generally good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.

Punto Banco Method

As with all games Baccarat has some common misconceptions. One of which is similar to a false impression in roulette. The past isn’t a prophecy of future events. Recording past results at a table is a waste of paper and a snub to the tree that was cut down for our paper needs.

The most common and possibly the most favorable plan is the one-three-two-six plan. This tactic is deployed to pump up profits and limit risk.

Start by placing 1 dollar. If you succeed, add one more to the 2 on the game table for a sum total of 3 chips on the second bet. Should you succeed you will retain 6 on the game table, remove 4 so you have 2 on the third round. Should you win the third bet, put down 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of 6 on the 4th wager.

Should you do not win on the initial round, you take a hit of 1. A profit on the 1st bet followed by a hit on the second creates a hit of two. Success on the first two with a defeat on the third gives you with a take of 2. And success on the initial three with a defeat on the fourth means you break even. Winning all four rounds gives you with 12, a profit of ten. This means you will be able to not win on the 2nd round five times for every successful streak of four bets and still are even.
