Baccarat Chemin de Fer Codes
Baccarat chemin de fer is enjoyed with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under 10 are valued at their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and A is 1. Bets are made on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these aren’t really people; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘house’ and ‘player’. The score for every hand is the total of the cards, however the first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of five and 6 has a value of one (five plus six equals 11; drop the initial ‘one’).
A 3rd card may be given using the following rules:
- If the player or house achieves a value of eight or 9, both players stand.
